Sprig Terms & Conditions

Effective date and last updated: 3 October 2026 (replaces the version of 5 September 2026). Applies to the Sprig app for iPhone and iPad (Apple App Store) and Android (Google Play), app ID com.secundumreality.sprig, published by Secundum Reality.

1. Who we are and what these Terms cover

Sprig is developed and published by Secundum Reality ("we", "us", "our"), Islamabad, Pakistan. Secundum Reality is operated by HOMEVISM SMC-PRIVATE LIMITED. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and us. They govern how you download, install and use the Sprig app on iPhone, iPad and Android, including any updates ("Sprig" or "the app"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use Sprig. If you use Sprig on behalf of a business, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for that business.

Sprig is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Your use of those stores, and any purchase made through them, is also subject to the store's own terms: the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions or the Google Play Terms of Service.

2. If you downloaded Sprig from the App Store

If you got Sprig from the Apple App Store, your licence to use it on Apple devices is granted under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). These Terms add to the Standard EULA. If the two conflict, the Standard EULA governs your licence to use Sprig on Apple devices, but only to the extent of the conflict. Sprig Premium bought on iPhone or iPad is billed to your Apple ID under Apple's rules. You also acknowledge that:

• these Terms are between you and Secundum Reality only, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for Sprig or its content;
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Sprig;
• if Sprig fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price you paid for the app, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Sprig;
• Apple is not responsible for dealing with any claim by you or anyone else about Sprig. This includes product liability claims, claims that Sprig fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws;
• if anyone claims that Sprig or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim, as far as these Terms require;
• you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist-supporting" country, and you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties;
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you.

3. Your licence to use Sprig

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use Sprig on iPhone, iPad and Android devices that you own or control, for your own personal or internal business bookkeeping. For App Store downloads, this licence follows the usage rules in the Apple Media Services Terms. Sprig is licensed to you, not sold. We and our licensors keep all rights not expressly granted here.

You may not, and may not allow anyone else to:

• copy, modify, translate, adapt or create derivative works of the app;
• reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise try to obtain the app's source code, except where the law expressly permits it despite this restriction;
• sell, rent, lease, sub-license, distribute or otherwise make the app available to third parties;
• remove or alter any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notice in the app;
• get around the free-plan entry limit, the ad flow, the Premium unlock, purchase checks or any other technical restriction in the app;
• use the app in any way that breaks applicable law, or use it to keep records of unlawful activity.

4. Eligibility

Sprig is a financial record-keeping tool for adults. To use Sprig and to buy Sprig Premium, you must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and legally able to enter into a contract. You must also be allowed to use the App Store or Google Play under their terms. Sprig is not directed at children under 13.

5. Your books, your device, your responsibility

Sprig works offline. It stores everything you enter only in the app's private storage on your device: entries, wallets, budgets, invoices, mileage, receipt photos and settings. How that data is protected on Android and on iPhone and iPad is described in the Privacy Policy. There is no account, no sign-in, no server and no cloud sync. By using Sprig, you accept these consequences:

• We cannot access, recover or restore your data. If your device is lost, damaged or reset, or the app is deleted, your books are gone unless you have a backup.
• Backups are up to you. In More › Settings & security you can create a passphrase-encrypted backup file, and you can export your entries as CSV. You decide where those files are stored. You are responsible for keeping them, and your passphrase, safe. A backup passphrase cannot be recovered or reset, and without it the backup cannot be opened. Check that you can restore a backup before you rely on it.
• Receipt photos are not included in backups. If you need to keep receipts, keep the originals or share copies out of Sprig.
• Premium is not a backup. Restoring your Premium subscription does not restore your bookkeeping data. Only your own backup can do that. Restoring a backup does not restore Premium either; use "Restore purchase" for that.
• You own your content. Everything you type into Sprig remains yours. We claim no rights over it and never receive a copy.
• Accuracy is your job. Sprig records what you enter. You are responsible for entering amounts, dates and categories correctly, and for checking the figures before you rely on them.

Make a backup regularly, and keep it somewhere other than the phone it came from.

6. Free plan and ads

Sprig is free to download, and the free plan includes every feature. It has these limits:

• 50 free entries in total (not per month). Entries brought in by CSV import, recurring entries that post automatically, and edits to existing entries do not count toward the limit.
• More entries by watching an ad. You can choose to watch an ad. Each ad you watch to the end adds 20 entries. You can do this up to 4 times a day; the daily count resets at midnight, local time. An ad you close early adds nothing.
• Your data is never locked. At the limit, you can still view, edit, export and back up everything you have entered.

An ad is shown only when you choose to watch one. Sprig has no banner ads and shows no ads automatically. Ads are supplied by Google AdMob and its advertising partners. We do not control their content and are not responsible for the products or services they promote. Ads depend on Google and may not always be available. How the ad software works, and your consent choices, are explained in the Privacy Policy. We may change the entry limit, the number of entries per ad, the daily limit or the availability of ads in future versions.

7. Sprig Premium subscription

Sprig Premium removes the free plan's entry limit and all ads. With Premium, Sprig stops loading ads and does not start the ad software when the app opens. It is an auto-renewing subscription with a term of one year, sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play.

• Price. The price, currency and renewal period are shown in the app and on the store's purchase screen before you confirm. Prices may include applicable taxes and may differ by country.
• Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple ID (iPhone and iPad) or your Google Play account (Android) when you confirm the purchase.
• Automatic renewal. The subscription renews automatically for another year unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The store charges your account for the renewal at or shortly before the end of the current period; on the App Store, this happens within the 24 hours before it ends.
• Managing and cancelling. On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings › your name › Subscriptions. On Android, open the Google Play app, then Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. "Manage subscription" in the app opens the right page. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Cancelling stops future renewals, and Premium stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.
• Refunds. Apple or Google processes all payments, and refunds follow their policies. For App Store purchases, request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play purchases, follow Google Play's refund policy. We do not process payments, never see your card or bank details, and cannot issue refunds directly.
• Restoring. If you reinstall Sprig or change device, tap "Restore purchase" in the app while signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account. Restoring the subscription does not restore your bookkeeping data (see section 5).
• Verification. Sprig checks your purchase with the store. If the store reports that the subscription has expired, been refunded or is not valid, Premium ends.
• Price changes. If the Premium price changes, Apple or Google will notify you before the new price applies to your next renewal, and will ask for your agreement where their rules require it. You can cancel before then.

8. Not tax, accounting, financial or legal advice

Sprig is a record-keeping tool. Budgets, the "safe to spend" figure, the tax summary, mileage values, category totals and other calculations come from the numbers you enter. They are provided for convenience only. They are not financial, tax, accounting or legal advice. They do not take your personal circumstances into account and may not match the rules that apply where you live. For example:

• the tax summary uses a fixed July–June financial year and a simple built-in list of deductible heads (such as 25% of rent counted as home office);
• mileage is valued at a fixed 45 per kilometre;
• currency conversion for net worth uses fixed reference rates.

Always check figures with a qualified accountant or adviser before relying on them, especially for tax filings. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on information shown in the app.

Sprig is not a bank, payment service or financial institution. It does not hold, move or have access to money.

9. Intellectual property

Sprig is owned by Secundum Reality or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. This includes its software, design, graphics, text, logos, and the Sprig name and leaf mark. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership to you. Third-party components used in the app remain the property of their owners and may have their own licence terms. Apple, App Store, iPhone and iPad are trademarks of Apple Inc. Google Play and Android are trademarks of Google LLC.

10. Third-party services

Sprig relies on these third-party services. Each is governed by its own terms and privacy policy:

We are not responsible for the availability, content or conduct of third-party services. Nor are we responsible for any app, cloud drive or messaging service you choose to send your exports and backups to.

11. Updates, changes and availability

We may release updates that add, change or remove features, fix bugs or improve security. Some updates may be required for the app to keep working. Some features depend on your operating-system version; for example, Back Tap Quick Entry needs iOS 16 or later. We may also change or discontinue the free plan, ads or Sprig itself. Because your data is stored only on your device, discontinuing the app would not delete your books, but new downloads, updates and Premium renewals could stop. If we discontinue Sprig while your Premium subscription is active, you may be able to get a refund for the unused period through Apple or Google under their refund policies.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sprig is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. This includes implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that:

• the app will be error-free or uninterrupted;
• calculations will be correct for your situation;
• defects will be corrected;
• the app will work with every device or operating-system version.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranties to be excluded, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Secundum Reality and its owners, employees and contractors will not be liable for any of the following arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, Sprig:

• indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages;
• loss of data, profits or business;
• tax penalties, interest or fines;
• costs of professional advice.

This applies even if we were told such damages were possible. It includes loss of your bookkeeping data through device failure, deleting the app, a forgotten backup passphrase or any other cause.

Our total liability to you for all claims relating to Sprig will not exceed the greater of USD 20 or the amount you paid for Sprig Premium in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and the statutory rights you have as a consumer.

14. Your responsibility to us

You agree to compensate us for losses, costs and reasonable legal fees that result from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of Sprig, or your breach of any law or third-party right while using the app.

15. Termination

You may stop using Sprig at any time by deleting it. If you do not want Sprig Premium to renew, cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions first. We may suspend or end your licence if you materially breach these Terms. When these Terms end, your licence ends and you must stop using and delete the app. Sections 5, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 16 and 17 survive termination. Deleting the app deletes the data stored in it on that device. Copies in your own backup files, or in your phone's system backup, are not affected. See the Privacy Policy.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the courts of Islamabad have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. This does not affect any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of the country where you live, including the right to bring proceedings in your local courts. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us at the address below so we can try to resolve the matter informally.

17. General

• These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and, for App Store downloads, Apple's Standard EULA, are the entire agreement between you and us about Sprig.
• If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
• If we do not enforce a right, that is not a waiver of that right.
• You may not transfer these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer them to a successor of our business.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries as described in section 2. Google is a third-party beneficiary of the licence restrictions in section 3 for distribution through Google Play. Otherwise, these Terms create no rights for any third party.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the app or the law changes. We will change the date at the top and note material changes in the app's release notes on the App Store and Google Play. If you continue to use Sprig after an update, you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app and cancel any Premium subscription.
